My name is Anthony Shields and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist at Renewing Hope Family Counseling Services, Inc. with over thirteen years of clinical experience. I am incredibly passionate about this field and driven to provide genuine, consistent, and empowering therapeutic services to each client one session at a time. I have extensive experience working with transitional age youth (16-25), and assisting them with developing the skills and tools needed to navigate the challenges they may encounter throughout high school, starting a new phase of life in college, or entering the workforce for the first time. I have always felt comfortable and confident engaging with those much older than I am and have found success in working with individuals generations apart. My goal with each client, regardless of age, is to first build a strong rapport and develop a clear picture of how to begin meeting that individual’s mental health needs with identifiable goals and objectives. With my clients, we collaboratively explore, identify, and reinforce the strengths they may have and not realize, while simultaneously discussing practical methods and techniques for symptom reduction, healing, and the overall improvement of the quality of their lives. I am well versed in several treatment modalities and proficient in working intently with those dealing with anxiety and depression disorders, as well as trauma, borderline personality disorder, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. I take a very relaxed yet direct approach to problem solving, and I always encourage a lighthearted nature to sessions when clients are taught how to show themselves the grace and compassion they deserve. Clients coming into treatment ready to work toward their personal mental health recovery will be met with someone fully prepared to walk alongside them and equip them with exactly what they need to know to successfully handle whatever life may throw their way..

My name is Jose Campos and yes that is my real name which may be confusing because of my picture. As you already have read, I have a sense of humor, a humor that is essential to my ideals of dignity and compassion because laughter helps to preserver. Those values of togetherness and kindness sustain me daily as a reminder that the quality of my life is attached to what I do to help improve the lives of others while having the boundaries to do so. I went to California Baptist University for my undergraduate degree and then attended The University of Southern California to earn my graduate degree in USC’s Master in Social Work program. Most of my experience is with children since beginning to practice therapy in 2013, and working with children offered me the opportunity to work closely with their adult parents; this experience has strengthened my belief that one of the greatest threats to our community is a mind that is left unhealed. I looked forward to helping you on your journey of renewal and hope.
I am a Licensed Psychologist specializing in psychological testing and evaluations. I graduated from Alliant International University in Fresno, California. My dissertation was titled “The Impact of Masculine and Feminine Attributes on Quality of Life and Relationship Satisfaction in Law Enforcement Officers.” I completed my internship in Lakeland, Florida and my post-doctorate fellowship in Atlanta where I completed both psychological and forensic evaluations. I provide testing services to children and adults. In my spare time I enjoy running, baking, being outdoors, and spending time with my husband.
Life is hard sometimes and whether it be internal situations or external events that have disturbed the quality of your life I am here to help guide you through your struggles. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #99929 in the state of California.I started practicing therapy formally in 2013. However, I started being formed as a counselor since my middle school days as a Peer Mediator. I have been previously trained and certified in Multidimensional Family Therapy. I have attended training seminars on Maternal Mental Health, Art Interventions and have a never ending thirst for learning how I can make the process of healing one that is fruitful and lasting. I enjoy working with Adolescents, Young Adults, Children, and Mothers, but am willing to help anyone dealing with challenges related to anxiety, depression, and trauma. My therapeutic orientation is based on principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Structural Family Therapy. During my sessions, I encourage expression through art and play. I teach skills that enhance the ability to practice mindfulness, and restructuring of cognitive processing. In family therapy, I use enactments to create change in relationships. I believe the client and therapist relationship is essential in your path to healing. I value honesty, direct communication, and giving my client’s detailed information of their treatment. Apart from providing direct therapy I am also supervising Registered Associates who are on their path to licensure. Outside of therapy I enjoy reading, making puzzles, cooking, and visiting Mickey and Minnie.
